M/Y M 57 BLACKBEARD
A real ocean going 57m vessel
“The challenge with this design was how to create a real ocean-going vessel using a relatively small platform, as the yacht needs to be able to operate in hot and cold climates, In one of the possible layouts proposal it is possible for guests to access any part of the yacht without going out on deck.
Theis Explorer provides accommodation for 12 guests accomodated in four double cabins and a VIP suite, with the upper deck dedicated to the owner. The master suite has a panoramic views forward and includes a terrace overlooking the bow. On the aft part of the upper deck a touch-and-go helipad is located accessible via a narrow footpath, offering space on either side of it for tenders.
The tender are stored on the main deck, freeing up the aft part of the boat that can be used for either a beach club, a sauna area or it could be used as a garage for additional toys such as a small Triton submarine
Above the owner’s deck is the sky lounge with a spa pool. Crew accommodation and facilities are provided on the lower deck. Teh yacht is equipped with twin MTU 12V 4000 M 63 engines producing a total of 2,984kW and achieving a top speed of 16 knots, with a range of 3,000nm at a cruising speed of 15 knots the engine room is studied considering the possibility of an hybrid propulsion.
