A gentle boat to go anywhere.

The Darwin 86’ was the first construction for CdM and we were requested not only to design a boat but to design a line that could become a brand. The aim was to match the explorer soul with a gentle and elegant exterior. After achieving this goal we also delivered a design which is now easily recognizable among the others.

The technical content is based on the same standard of much larger boats and that is something really appreciated by owners and captain’s. The market appreciated the Darwin 86’ and the entire Darwin Class and, in few years, nine yachts of this series were sold. It is a boat that, despite its dimensions, can compete in range and seaworthiness with boats much bigger and its capabilities have been widely proven. The second construction crossed the Atlantic in October from Grand Canaria to Fort Lauderdale in eleven days.

The same boat sailed in the Mediterranean sea with 57 kn of wind with no problem. We wanted a small boat to go anywhere and after these experiences, we had the confirmation that we achieved this goal!
